Jiuquan Steel's new production line successful in trial

SteelOrbis Shanghai Jiuquan Steel succeeded in its trial operation of its 2 million metric tons per annum capacity continuous casting and rolling production line. This production line is one of the key projects in Jiuquan Steel. It can produce common carbon structural steel, high quality carbon structural steel, high-intense low alloy steel, steel for automobile, pipe line steel and other similar products. The construction of the production line began in 2004, and it has been in trial operation since March 2006. It can produce flat rolled products with thicknesses from 0.8 mm to 12.7 mm, and width from 850 mm to 1,680 mm. Maximum coil weight that can be rolled on the line is 311,000 metric tons.
