JISCO Hongxing Steel issues output targets for 2012

According to Gansu Province-based Chinese steel company Jiugang Steel Group Co. (JISCO), in the first eleven months this year the steel outputs of the steelmaking plant and rolling plant of its subsidiary Hongxing Iron & Steel Co. totaled 2.18 million mt, while the outputs of the plants are expected to reach 2.44 million mt for the full year. In the current year up to the middle of December, the medium plate output of the steelmaking facilities in question totaled 920,000 mt, while the output of medium plate for the full year is expected to reach 958,000 mt, up 150,000 mt as compared to 2010.
 
Ruan Qiang, manager of the steelmaking plant and rolling plant of Hongxing Iron and Steel, said that the steel production capacity of the facilities would increase to 2.6 million mt in 2012. The high-speed wire rod lines No. 1 and No. 2 are expected to operate at full capacity in 2012 with respective annual output targets of 720,000 mt and 750,000 mt. Meanwhile, the medium plate output target for 2012 is expected to reach 920,000 mt, including 60,000 mt of stainless steel.
