According to Hebei Province-based Chinese steel producer Jinxi Iron and Steel Group, the new cold rolled silicon steel line of its subsidiary Foshan Jinxi Jinlan Cold Rolled Sheet Co. (Jinxi Jinlan) has been officially put into production. The new cold rolled silicon steel production line, which has an annual output capacity of 100,000 mt, will mainly produce cold rolled non-grain-oriented silicon steel strip in coils for mechanical and electrical products such as electric motors and electric generators.

Jinxi Jinlan started to build the production line in question in March last year, based on strong demand for non-grain-oriented silicon steel products in China and supply shortages for these products in the south of the country. Jinxi Jinlan completed hot commissioning of the new production line in December last year and commenced trial production at the end of January this year.
