Jindal Steel reports increase in net profit

Indian steelmaker Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. announced that the company's net profit rose 18.7 percent to Rupees 1.46 billion ($32.3 million) in the second quarter ended September 30, 2005. The company's total income increased from Rupees 5.06 billion ($111.9 million) to Rupees 6.28 billion ($139 million) during the same period.
