Jincheng Fusheng Steel to import 4.5 million mt of iron sand in 2012

Jincheng, Shanxi Province-based Chinese company Jincheng Fusheng Iron and Steel Co., the largest steelmaking enterprise in the city of Jincheng, has announced that in 2011 it produced 2.44 million mt of pig iron, 2.21 million mt of crude steel and 2.1 million mt of finished steel, while its sales revenue reached RMB 8.53 billion ($1.358 billion).

At the beginning of the current year, Jincheng Fusheng Steel began construction work on its 1,380 m3 blast furnace No. 4, while its converter No. 3 was put into production, expanding the company's output capacity. In 2011, iron sand imported by the company totaled $250 million in value. Meanwhile, Jincheng Fusheng Steel plans to import 4.5 million mt of iron sand in the current year, with a total estimated value of $600 million.
