Jiangsu Province tackles out-of-date production capacity
SteelOrbis Shanghai Jiangsu Provincial Government has released its plans for the elimination of out-of-date steel production capacities in Jiangsu Province, aiming to remove iron-making capacity of 5.92 million mt and steel-making capacity of 4.62 million mt by the year 2010. With its steel output ranked second in China, Jiangsu Province is one of the key regions on the list of China's National Development & Reform Committee (NDRC) for steel capacity elimination. In accordance with the plans, after a thorough investigation the Jiangsu provincial authorities are first of all to issue a list of the steel mills, the production capacity and out-of-date equipment to be eliminated by the end of 2007.
