In September this year, Japan's hot rolled plate and sheet shipments increased by 9.75 percent compared to the previous month and were down by 14.5 percent compared to the same month last year, amounting to 822,000 metric tons. 73 percent of shipments were made to the domestic market, while the remaining 27 percent were made to the export markets, according to the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF) data.
In September of the current year, Japan's hot rolled plate and sheet production amounted to 834,000 mt, up 5.6 percent month on month and declining by 10.2 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in September, Japan's hot rolled strip shipments amounted to 1.54 million mt, down 3.1 percent from the previous month and rising by 4.05 percent year on year. 25 percent of shipments were made to the domestic market, while the remaining 75 percent were made to the export markets. In the given month, Japan's hot rolled strip production amounted to 1.34 million mt, falling by 21.1 percent month on month and down by 1.8 percent year on year.
