Japan's steel exports up in February 2007

Data from the Japanese Iron and Steel Federation show that Japan's steel exports rose 12.9 percent year on year to 2.89 million metric tons in February 2007.

In February, Japan's steel exports to South Korea rose seven percent year on year to 685.600 metric tons, while exports to China rose only 1.2 percent to 471.253 metric tons in the same month.  

In addition, Japan's February steel exports to Thailand rose 32.3 percent year on year to 327,820 metric tons, while those to Taiwan increased 16.6 percent to 273.374 metric tons.

Japan's steel exports to the US rose 6.9 percent to 172.927 metric tons in February.
