Japan’s stainless flat steel exports fall in January

According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's stainless flat steel exports totaled 46,327 metric tons in January this year, falling by 16.1 percent month on month and down 28.4 percent compared to January 2011.

In January, Japan's stainless flat steel exports to China decreased by 21.6 percent month on month to 12,169 metric tons, while an increase of 5.8 percent was registered compared to January 2011. South Korea imported 11,539 metric tons from Japan in January this year, up 7.5 percent compared to the previous month but down 33 percent year on year.
