Japan’s stainless flat steel exports fall 6.2 percent in 2011

According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's stainless flat steel exports totaled 55,235 metric tons in December 2011, rising by 1.5 percent month on month and down 33.5 percent compared to December 2010.

In 2011, Japan's stainless flat steel exports amounted to 869,565 metric tons, falling by 6.2 percent year on year. Japanese stainless flat steel exports to China in 2011 totaled 211,988 metric tons, up 9.3 percent year on year, while exports to South Korea amounted to 188,971 metric tons remaining stable year on year.
