According to the data released by the Japan Ship Exporters' Association (JSEA), Japanese new export ship orders fell for the fifth straight month in September on year-on-year basis, decreasing 29.6 percent to nine ships totaling 243,900 gross tons.
At the end of the first nine months of the current year, Japanese shipbuilders' order books for export totaled 846 ships, with a total gross tonnage of 38.6 million, falling approximately by 11 percent as compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, in September Japan delivered 36 ships totaling 1.7 million gross tons for export. In the January-September period, Japan delivered 285 ships for export, totaling 13,116,169 gross tons.
