Japan’s nickel ore imports up 9.6 percent in Jan-Sept

According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's nickel ore imports totaled 355,941 metric tons in September  this year, down 9.2 percent month on month and decreasing by 16.8 percent compared to September 2012.

In the first nine months of the year, Japan's nickel ore imports amounted to 3.7 million metric tons, increasing by 9.6 percent year on year.

In the first nine months, Japan's nickel ore imports from Indonesia rose 20 percent to 1.8 million metric tons, while its import volume from the Philippines totaled 771,565 mt, up 38.4 percent, both year on year.
