Japan’s new vehicle sales fall

Data from the Japanese Automobile Dealers' Association (JADA) show that Japan's domestic sales of new cars, trucks and buses fell 3.4 percent year on year to 349'905 units in July. The main reason affected the total sales was the passenger car sales, which dropped 4.5 percent year on year to 302'283 units last month. Meanwhile, sales of trucks in July rose 4.6 percent year on year to 46'102 units. However, bus sales declined 4.7 percent to 1'520 units. Separately, the Japanese Mini-Vehicle Association disclosed that mini-vehicle sales reached 167'243 units in July, a year-on-year increase of 3.8 percent.
