Japan’s January 2005 crude steel output up 1.9%
Japanese crude steel output rose 1.9% year-on-year in January 2005 to 9.52 million tons, the
Japan Iron and Steel Federation said today. However, January 2005 output was 0.5% lower than the December 2004 output.
Ordinary steel
production amounted to 7.42 million tons in January, up 0.3% year-on-year. Specialty steel output rose 8.1% to 2.1 million tons in January 2005.
