Japan’s ferroalloy imports down three percent in Jan-Nov

According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's ferroally imports totaled 152,830 metric tons in November this year, rising by 10 percent month on month and down 10.7 percent compared to November 2010.

In November of the current year, Japan's ferroally imports from Africa fell by 26 percent compared to the previous month to 23,400 metric tons, while a decline of 35.25 percent was registered compared to November 2010. China exported 31,780 mt of ferroalloy to Japan in November this year, up 26 percent month on month and down 33.3 percent year on year.
 
Meanwhile, in the January-November period of 2011, Japan's ferroally imports amounted to 1.6 million metric tons, decreasing by three percent year on year.
 
In the first 11 months of this year, Japanese ferroally imports from China totaled 308,874 metric tons, while imports from Africa amounted to 353,018 metric tons, decreasing by 24.3 percent and down 5.5 percent respectively, both compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
