Japan’s cold rolled steel exports down 7.3% in 2011

According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's cold rolled steel exports totaled 240,405 metric tons in December 2011, falling by 12 percent month on month and down 32.4 percent compared to December 2010.
 
Meanwhile, in the whole of 2011, Japan's cold rolled steel exports amounted to 3.75 million metric tons, decreasing by 7.3 percent year on year.
 
In 2011, China was the largest cold rolled steel export destination of Japan, totaling 1.23 million metric tons, while exports to Thailand amounted to 427,526 metric tons, decreasing by 12.8 percent and down 2.7 percent respectively, both compared to 2010.
