Japanese-made construction equipment shipments up

Japanese-made construction equipment shipments rose 13.4% year-on-year to Yen 126.1 billion (around $1.2 billion) in January 2005, Japan's Construction Equipment Manufacturers' Association (CEMA) said. CEMA indicated that exports jumped 20% year-on-year to Yen 74.5 billion in January while domestic shipments rose 5.1% year-on-year to Yen 51.6 billion.
