Japanese crude steel output up 8.9 percent in November

In November this year, Japanese crude steel production was down by 2.8 percent compared to the previous month, while it increased 8.9 percent year on year, totaling 9.26 million mt, according to the data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF).
 
Meanwhile, in November this year Japan's pig iron production totaled 6.84 million metric tons, increasing by 4.3 percent compared to the same month last year and down 4.5 percent month on month.
In the January-November period this year, the country's pig iron output stood at 76.81 million metric tons, rising by 2.8 percent, while its crude steel production came to 101.22 million metric tons, rising by 2.6 percent, both compared to the corresponding period of 2012.
