Japanese crude steel output down 1.4 percent in November

In November this year, Japanese crude steel production was down 4.8 percent compared to the previous month and down 1.4 percent compared to November 2015, totaling 8.62 million mt, according to the data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF). 
 
Meanwhile, in November of the current year Japan's pig iron production totaled 6.39 million metric tons, falling by 5.7 percent compared to the previous month and down by 4.2 percent year on year.
                                                    
In the January-November period of this year, the country's pig iron output stood at 73.62 million metric tons, down one percent, while its crude steel production came to 96.06 million metric tons, falling 0.5 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
