Japan sees decline in February steel exports

Japan's steel exports fell 1.8% year on year to 2.79 million metric tons in February, according to data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation. February steel exports, however, saw a 9.9% rise compared to January. Japan's steel exports to China fell 28.6% year on year to 467'000 metric tons in February. The country's steel exports to South Korea and Taiwan also dropped 3.5% and 0.6% to 645'000 and 256'000 metric tons. On the other hand, Japan's exports to Thailand rose 53.2% to 378'000 metric tons, while exports to the US rose 10% to 111'000 metric tons.
