Izhora Pipe Mill to produce new pipes for Gazprom

Izhora Pipe Mill, a subsidiary of Russian steel producer Severstal, which specializes in large diameter pipe production using strip produced by CherMK (Severstal Russian Steel), has announced the signing of a long-term scientific and technical cooperation program with Russian gas company Gazprom.

The program scheduled for 2012-2016 will focus on production of tubular goods for deep-water sea pipelines, development of rolled products and pipes to transport hydrogen sulfide gas, as well as pipes for areas where there are active tectonic faults.
 
Manufacturing of high-quality pipes for projects on Yamal peninsula in Eastern Siberia and in Russia's Far East will also be part of the program.
