ITC to conduct sunset reviews for steel beams from two countries
The US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Friday voted in favor of conducting full five-year reviews (“sunset”) concerning the countervailing and antidumping duty orders on imports of structural steel beams imported from Japan and South Korea. The ITC will use the sunset reviews to determine whether the revocation of the orders would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to US domestic industries. Interested parties are requested to submit their comments on the ITC's decision. Generally, 95 days after the initiation of the review the ITC determines whether the responses indicate adequate interest in a full review. If the responses are adequate, the ITC will conduct a full review, which includes public hearings and questionnaires. The existing duty rates are as follows:Country/Producer Duty rate Japan AD order Kawasaki Steel..........................65.21% Nippon Steel............................65.21% NKK/Toa Steel...........................65.21% Sumitomo Metals.........................65.21% Tokyo Steel.............................65.21% Topy Industries.........................65.21% Yamato Kogyo.............................0.00% All others..............................31.98% Korea CVD order Dongkuk Steel............................1.34% All others...............................3.87% Inchon Steel............................(excluded) AD order Kangwon Industries......................49.01% INI (Inchon Steel)......................16.62% Dongkuk Steel............................4.39% All others..............................37.25%
