Italy’s industrial output index stable in 2011

According to ISTAT, Italy's national statistics office, in December last year the seasonally adjusted index of Italian industrial production increased by 1.4 percent compared to November and declined by 1.7 percent compared to December 2010 when we consider the data adjusted for calendar effects.

Meanwhile, the average index value in 2011 was unchanged compared to the previous year.

In December 2011, the seasonally adjusted index decreased by 3.6 percent for intermediate goods, by 10.3 percent for energy and by 0.8 percent for consumer goods, but grew by 3.2 percent for instrumental goods, all on year-on-year basis.
