Italy’s crude steel output up 9.8 percent in April

According to the figures released by the Italian steel producers' association Federacciai, in April this year Italian crude steel output rose by 9.8 percent year on year and dropped 4.2 percent month on month, totaling 2.46 million metric tons. Italian crude steel output in the first four months of the current year increased by 8.4 percent year on year to 9.42 million metric tons.
 
Federacciai also released Italy's long and flat steel output data for March this year. Accordingly, in March Italy's long steel output was up 8.7 percent year on year and up 12.5 percent month on month, totaling 1.26 million metric tons. On the other hand, in the same month the country's flat steel output reached 1.44 million metric tons, increasing by 23.1 percent year on year and by 11.6 percent month on month.
