Italy's crude steel output indicates drop of 7.5 percent in August

In August this year, Italian crude steel output decreased by 7.5 percent year on year to 1.088 million metric tons, according to the figures released on September 19 by the Italian steel producers association Federacciai. August is the 17th month in a row in which a year-on-year fall in output has been witnessed. In July this year, a 12.5 percent year-on-year decline had been observed in Italian crude steel production.

In the January-August period of the current year, total Italian crude steel output amounted to 15.871 million mt, down 14 percent compared to the same period of 2012.
