Italy's crude steel output decreases by 12.5 percent in July

In July this year, Italian crude steel output decreased by 12.5 percent year on year to 2.105 million metric tons, according to the figures released by the Italian steel producers association Federacciai. July is the 16th month in a row in which a year-on-year fall in output has been witnessed and is the ninth month in a row in which the percentage decrease has been in double digits. In June this year, a 10.3 percent year-on-year decline was recorded in Italy's crude steel output.

In the January-July period of the current year, total Italian crude steel production amounted to 14.783 million mt, down 14.5 percent compared to the same period in 2012.
