Italy’s construction sector sees reduced confidence in April

In April this year, the seasonally adjusted confidence index in the Italian construction sector decreased by two percent from 79.8 in March to 78.2, declining for the second month in a row, after the month-on-month increases witnessed in January and February, as announced by Italy's national statistics office Istat. The April reading was the lowest since September 2011.

In April, the confidence index fell 7.2 percent in the building construction segment, while it increased by 4.5 percent in civil engineering and by 1.3 percent in specialized construction works, all month on month.
