Italy’s construction output up 5.3 percent in August over July

According to ISTAT, Italy's national statistics office, in August this year the Italian seasonally adjusted construction output index increased by 5.3 percent month on month. The average index for the June-August period decreased by 1.7 percent compared to the previous three-month period. In August, Italy’s seasonally adjusted construction output index increased after declining in each of the previous four months on month-on-month basis.
 
The calendar adjusted index of production in the Italian construction in August this year decreased by nine percent compared with August 2011, while in the in the first eight months of the year the index went down by 12.8 percent compared with the same period of 2011.
