Italy’s construction output index up 5.5% in April over March

In April this year, the Italian seasonally adjusted construction output index increased by 5.5 percent month on month following the 4.2 percent month-on-month decline observed in March, as announced by ISTAT, Italy's national statistics office. The average index value for the February-April period decreased by 6.6 percent compared to the previous three-month period.

Meanwhile, Italy's calendar adjusted index of production in the domestic construction sector in April this year decreased by 10.2 percent compared with April 2012. In the January-April period, the index was down 11.6 percent year on year.
