Italy’s construction output index declines further in February

In February this year, the Italian seasonally adjusted construction output index decreased by 4.2 percent month on month following the 2.5 percent month-on-month decline observed in January, as announced by ISTAT, Italy's national statistics office. The average index value for the December-February quarter decreased by 4.3 percent compared to the previous quarter.

February was the 24th consecutive month in which the calendar adjusted index of production in the Italian construction sector indicated a year-on-year decline. In the January-February period this year, the average index value was down 6.3 percent compared to the same period of 2012.
