Italy’s construction output declines in January

In January this year, the Italian seasonally adjusted construction output index decreased by 1.4 month on month, according to the preliminary figures issued by ISTAT, Italy's national statistics office. The average index for November-January period decreased by 6.3 percent compared to the previous three-month period. The calendar adjusted index of production in the Italian construction sector in January this year declined by 12 percent compared with January 2012. The readings issued by ISTAT for January this year are among the lowest historical levels registered since the data started to be recorded.
