According to the latest figures issued by the Italian automotive industry association Anfia, in Italy total passenger car output amounted to 35,229 units in March this year, up 4.1 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the first quarter of the current year Italy's passenger car output recorded a 7.8 percent fall on year-on-year basis.

According to Anfia's statement, passenger car exports from Italy were down about 16.5 percent in March and decreased by 15.8 percent in the first quarter, both year on year.

As previously reported by SteelOrbis, new passenger car registrations in Italy had decreased 4.9 percent in March and 13 percent in the first quarter, both year on year, while in April and the January-April period the year-on-year decreases in new registrations were 10.8 percent and 12.3 percent respectively.
