Italy-based Leali’s sales revenue up by 26 percent in 2010

Brescia, Italy-based long steel and special steel producer Leali Spa saw its sales revenue rise by 26 percent year on year in 2010, while it reduced its net loss compared to the 2009 result.

In 2010, Leali's sales revenue reached €205.9 million, up by 26.1 percent year on year, while its EBITDA grew by 25.5 percent to €10.4 million. Meanwhile, Leali's net loss, which amounted to €42.6 million in 2009, decreased to €15.1 million in 2010.

Acciaieria Valsugana, the steelmaking subsidiary of Leali, produced 406,000 mt of concasted steel blooms in 2010, increasing by 6.2 percent year on year. Leali's 2010 finished product output was down three percent to 389,000 mt, inclusive of special steels produced at its Odolo, Brescia plant and steel rebar produced in Roè Volciano, Brescia.
