Italian metal output sales prices decline in July

According to Istat, Italy's national statistics office, in July this year industrial production sales prices in Italy increased by 0.3 percent compared to June and by 2.1 percent year on year.
 
In July, the prices of industrial products sold in the local market were up 0.4 percent month on month and 2.4 percent year on year, while the price index of products sold in foreign markets did not show hardly any variation compared to June (-0.1 percent in the euro area and stable outside the euro area) and rose by 0.9 percent year on year (+0.6 percent in the euro area and +1.2 percent outside the euro area).
 
In the first seven months of the year, all indexes grew year-on-year both for domestic sales (+2.7 percent) and euro area sales (+1.2 percent) and also for non euro area sales (+2.3 percent).

In the field of production of metals and metals products (excluding plants and machines), Istat posted month-on-month decreases for all price indices (-0.1 percent in the domestic market, -0.5 percent in the euro zone and -0.2 percent outside the euro area), and also year-on-year decreases, respectively down two percent, 5.5 percent and 3.2 percent.
