According to Istat, Italy's national statistics office, in September this year industrial production sales prices in Italy decreased by 0.1 percent compared to August and rose by 2.6 percent year on year.
In September, the prices of industrial products sold in the local market were down 0.1 percent month on month and up 2.8 percent year on year, while the price index of products sold in foreign markets fell 0.1 percent compared to August (-0.1 in the euro area and 0.0 outside the euro area) and rose by one percent year on year (+0.8 percent in the euro area and +1.4 percent outside the euro area).
In the first nine months of the year, all price indexes rose on year-on-year basis, for domestic sales (+2.7 percent), euro area sales (+1.1 percent) and for also non-euro area sales (+2.2 percent).
In the field of metals and metals product production (excluding plants and machines), for September Istat posted a month-on-month decrease for prices of products sold in the euro zone (-0.7 percent). Meanwhile, the price indices were stable month on month in the domestic market and outside the euro area. Year-on-year variations were negative for Italian metal product sales in all markets, respectively down 2.1 percent in Italy, down 4.1 percent in the euro zone and decreasing by 1.8 percent outside the euro zone.
