In June this year, the seasonally adjusted confidence index in Italian manufacturing increased to 88.9 from 86.6 in May, rising by 2.65 percent, according to Italy's national statistics office Istat. Assessments on order books and production expectations improved, while inventories have decreased.
The index grew from 88.7 to 90.5 for consumer goods, from 86.6 to 89.6 for intermediate goods and from 84.2 to 86.8 for instrumental goods, all month on month. The improvement in order books is mainly concentrated in the field of intermediate goods, while improvement of production expectations is principally located amongst instrumental goods.
