Italian industrial output sales prices up 0.3% in April from March

According to Istat, Italy's national statistics office, in April this year industrial production sales prices in Italy increased by 0.3 percent compared to March and by 2.5 percent year on year.
 
In April, the prices of industrial products sold in the local market were up 0.3 percent month on month and rose 2.5 percent year on year, while the price index of products sold in foreign markets increased by 0.3 percent compared to March (+0.3 in the euro area and +0.2 outside the euro area) and grew by 1.8 percent year on year (+1 percent in the euro area and +2.5 percent outside the euro area).
 
In the first four months of the year, all indexes increased year on year, for domestic sales (+2.9 percent) and euro area sales (+1.6 percent) and also non-euro area sales (+2.7 percent).

In the metals and metals product production segment (excluding plants and machines), Istat posted month-on-month increases for all indices (0.1 percent in the domestic market, 0.5 percent in the euro zone and 0.8 percent outside the euro zone), while decreases were recorded on year-on-year basis, respectively down 1.9 percent, 5.5 percent and 3.1 percent.
