Italian crude steel production increases slightly in August

In August this year, crude steel production in Italy amounted to 1.093 million metric tons, up 0.4 percent year on year, as announced by the Italian steel producers association Federacciai. Italian crude steel output had increased also in July and June, after decreasing in both April and May this year, all on year-on-year basis.

In the January-August period of the current year, Italian crude steel production amounted to 15.585 million metric tons, increasing by 1.7 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in July this year, Italy's long steel output amounted to 1.07 million metric tons, increasing by 0.7 percent, while Italian flat steel output totaled 1.055 million metric tons, increasing by 5.4 percent, both year on year.
