Isfahan Steel Mill exports to exceed $100 million

Iranian steelmaker Isfahan Steel Mill Complex announced that it expects its steel exports to exceed $100 million by the end of current Iranian year (ending March 20, 2006). The company exported steel products worth more than $77 million in the previous Iranian year. The increase in the steel exports is attributed to the structural reform program conducted by the company in the last eight years. SteelOrbis reported yesterday that Iran's steel exports are expected to reach as high as 10 million tons per year within the next four years. Moreover, the country's steel production is expected to reach 25-30 million tons with the implementation of the development plans. Iran currently produces only 8 million tons of steel products per year and has to import 5-6 million tons annually to meet its steel demand.
