ISD’s steelmaking subsidiaries issue output results for 2011

In 2011, the steelmaking subsidiaries of Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD) produced a total of 6.494 million mt of pig iron, up 25 percent compared to 2010. In addition, the subsidiaries' crude steel output in the given period increased by 23 percent compared to 2010, rising to 6.971 million mt, they registered a 26 percent increase in their finished steel production year on year to 6.647 million mt, while their agglomerate output went up by 15 percent year on year to 9.831 million mt.

In particular, in 2011 Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works (Alchevsk) saw a 30 percent increase in its crude steel production to 3.773 million mt and a 36 percent increase in its finished steel production to 3.639 million mt.

The crude steel output of Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after F. Dzerzhinsky (DMKD) in the given period increased by 16 percent year on year to 3.198 million mt, while its finished steel output increased by 16 percent year on year to 3.008 million mt.

Alchevsk Coking Plant saw its coke production rise by three percent year on year to 3.021 million mt in 2011.

In the given year, Dniepropetrovsk Tube Works increased its steel pipe production by 27 percent year on year to 102,100 mt.
