Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD) is constructing a new longs producing mill in the UAE's Emirate of Fujairah.

The new mill is to produce one million metric tons of rebar, wire rod and other long products annually, and is scheduled to start production in the fourth quarter of the current year.

ISD is the second Ukrainian mill to decide to build a longs rolling mill in UAE.  In September 2006 Ukrainian steel producer ISTIL announced its intention to construct a new mill in the UAE with a total production capacity of 500,000 metric tons of longs a year. ISTIL's new mill is to start production in January 2009.
