Iron surcharge added to pricing by J&L Specialty Steel

J&L Specialty Steel, a wholly owned subsidiary of Arcelor, recently announced that they are going to apply a surcharge of $140/gross ton on iron used in stainless steel production, in other words to all grades of stainless steel products as well as the ones which have already been sold. This change in pricing will be valid for shipments from February 29 through April 3. This was not some unexpected news as iron scrap prices reached to very high levels.
