Iron ore exports via Port Hedland up 8.5 percent in Feb from Jan

In February this year, iron ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland increased by 8.5 percent compared to January and were up 2.71 percent year on year, totaling 36.63 million metric tons. 
 
According to the information released by Port Hedland Port Authority, in February of the current year iron ore shipments made from Port Hedland to China amounted to 29.14 million metric tons, rising by 0.8 percent compared to the previous month and down 3.7 percent year on year. Japan and South Korea followed China in February, receiving 2.17 million mt and 3.14 million mt respectively.
