Iran’s steel products demand to increase 7.1 percent

Iran's demand for steel products is expected to increase 7.1 percent year on year to 14.6 million metric tons over the next year. However, some experts indicate that Iran's steel industry may experience some problems next year as most mills are increasing production capacity and some new private steel mills are scheduled to come on stream. Iran aims to produce 29 million metric tons of steel by the end of the Fourth Five-Year Economic Development Plan in 2009.
