The new galvanizing plant, based near Shahr-e-Kord, capital of the central Iranian province of Chaharmahal Bakhtiari, will be the first plant in the Persian Gulf capable of producing galvanized sheet for auto bodies. Construction of the plant which started at the end of June 2006 was completed recently. As feedstock the new plant will use cold rolled coils from Mobarakeh Steel Company, which is located at a distance of 45 km.
