Iranian state-owned mills see three percent rise in crude steel output

The Iranian state-owned steel sector produced 9.75 million metric tons of crude steel in the first 11 months (21.03.2009-20.02.2010) of the current Iranian year, up three percent compared with the same period of the last Iranian year, according to the new figures published by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO). Meanwhile, Iranian private sector steelmakers produced about 400,000 mt of crude steel in the same period, not showing much change year on year, according to the Iran Steel Producers Association.
