Iran's Ministry of Industries and Mines has announced the Iranian government's rejection of the domestic tube and pipe producers' request for the cancellation or at least reduction of the import duty on hot rolled coil (HRC).

Currently, Iran has a 10 percent duty in place for imports of HRC. In August 2007, Iranian pipe and tube producers asked the government to cancel the HRC import duty or at least reduce it to four percent.
