Iran Alloy Steel’s billet output up by 11 percent

Iranian steelmaker Iran Alloy Steel produced 233,000 metric tons of semi-finished steel (billet) and 219,000 mt of finished steel products in the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (started March 21), indicating increases of 11 percent and three percent respectively compared to the same period of the last Iranian year, according to the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

Iran Alloy Steel, which has a current annual output capacity of 250,000 mt of alloy steel, expects to increase its capacity by about 80 percent with the commissioning of its new electric arc furnace, ladle furnace and continuous casting machine in the near future.
