The Ukrainian pipe producer Interpipe Corporation (Interpipe) has announced that it has commenced the process of assembling the steel construction of its new electric steel plant Interpipe Steel, and is finishing the arrangement of the iron cast-in-situ reinforced foundations of its ferroalloys and friable materials store.

Moreover, Interpipe has completed the construction work on the foundation mat for engines of continuous casting blooms and billets, and is carrying out the work in the foundations of the raw-material yard, where the scrap will be stored and which will provide the raw materials of the future plant.

The construction of the plant started in February of last year and will take 26 months to complete. All necessary equipments are to be supplied by Italian firm Danieli.

The new electric steel plant Interpipe Steel, worth $600 million, will provide Interpipe with self-sufficiency in high quality steel for its pipe products and railway wheels.
