The China Iron & Steel Association (CISA) is scheduled to hold the 7th China International Steel and Raw Materials Conference in Dalian at the end of October. The international iron ore price talks traditionally commence within one month of this conference.

A CISA insider has stated that Baosteel, WISCO, Anshan Steel, CVRD and other global iron ore giants are to send their representatives to attend the Dalian conference. During their meeting, the mills and iron ore suppliers will exchange views concerning the prospects for the iron ore market in the coming year, so that each side can find out exactly where the opposite side stands.
